Art isa key element of every human society, which means that art should always be supported and protected, it is too often reality that art is taken for granted and not seen as a priority. That is what drives Baryn Futa as a lover of art and a major benefactor. Too often, the greatest artists see little to no appreciation and too often don’t make enough to thrive. That’s why he expends so muchtime and effort doing as much as he can to alleviate that situation.
Baryn Futa didn’t always have such a deep appreciation for art. It wasn’t until he retired and began working with the Denver Art Museum that he began to fully appreciate the importance of the arts, and no one was more surprised than he about that. At DAM, he cultivated his new-found love of the arts and art history by attending art fairs and museum exhibitions and anything else he could find.
Baryn also established his own art collection, which has grown to be very impressive. He now holds memberships in many prominent art museums with impressive collections of their own, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, and The Jewish Museum. When he can, he also loans his pieces to museums because he wants more people to appreciate and want to preserve art.
